I can t work my way past where you said you pull the door and it closes all the way.
Garage door closes all the way then reopens.
To fix this issue and get your liftmaster garage door opener working again follow these troubleshooting steps.
If it closes only partway the safety sensors are usually responsible clean the lenses or realign them and make sure there are no obstacles blocking the beam.
If the garage door does not close completely or begins to close and then opens back up again the down limit switch needs.
You push the button to close the garage door.
If it closes before that distance has been traveled it thinks something is wrong and it reopens to help prevent any damage or safety risk.
If the door starts to close then opens again and the light begins to flash the infrared safety sensors are out of adjustment or defective.
If there is a force adjustment out of range that could potentially cause this issue.
It goes partway down reverses direction and goes back up again.
If the door closes and then opens again on its own adjust the rod in the tube to provide 1 inch of cushion compression when the door is completely closed.
Pull the emergency release handle down and back towards the garage door opener.
Close the door with either the door control or the remote control.
This is almost always the result of a dirty or obstructed safety feature.
Close the garage door with the opener and watch it closely as it closes.
Outside of those things you may need to have a technician come and check the unit s out.
Your garage door is programmed to travel a certain distance before it closes.
